Experts from Ibercaja and Emececuadrado have analyzed successful cases in Extremadura in which they intervened with their financing and advisory services, among which Iberitos stands out.

Self-consumption is confirmed as the democratizing element of the energy sector. This is one of the main conclusions of the 2nd SOStenibilidad 'Energy Independence' Congress held in the Siglo XXI building in Badajoz.

This conference was held in Badajoz during the last week of October and is part of the II Ibercaja Planet Week. This is the second edition of an initiative that Ibercaja launched with the aim of making visible its commitment to sustainability, accompanying and helping its stakeholders on the road to a more sustainable world, with the dual objective of positioning itself as a reference in this area and responding to the needs of society and the environment.

Ibercaja is giving a significant boost to sustainability in its business model, according to the strategic roadmap of the Plan Desafío 2023, and its firm commitment to accompany its customers on this path through products, services and specialized advice.

The block dedicated to self-consumption was one of the most interesting. Moderated by Vicente Sánchez, head of the Renewable Energy Department of Emececuadradoanalyzed two other success stories in the world of private enterprise in which Ibercaja's engineering and financing have been essential, including Iberitos.

Rafael Román, general manager of Iberitos, said he was very pleased with the investments made, which "help to make the numbers come out and to meet the sustainability expectations of the companies. The execution of the work has been perfect," he explained. In addition, the surplus energy from Iberitos' self-consumption is earmarked for social purposes.
